Auditions are always stiff and your directors take a lot of time to decide the best group of voices they can year after year.

NOTEorious typically rehearses Monday/Tuesday and Friday after school. Times vary and you should follow the internal calendar that will be shared with you

Rehearsals do get more intense when we have concerts and events. There will be testing before concerts to make sure you know your part.

If you miss rehearsals or have to leave early prior to a concert, or do not know your part,
you will not be allowed to perform in that concert. Excessive tardiness or 2 concert absences may result in dismissal from the group. This is an elite competition group and we expect all students to attend all events.

You must pay a fee to participate. This fee is accessed on the high school's main page but not available until August.  Mrs Kane is not responsible for collecting this fee. This is a school participation fee.
You fill out the Family id form electronically and send it to the main office in August.

If you do not make it this year, PLEASE come back and audition for us again. Don't ever give up signing. Join Chorus! Take private lessons. Audition for the musical. Anything you can do to keep honing your craft. A musician works their craft every day. Failing doesn't mean failure. Failure is only final once you completely give up.

NOTEorious 2025-26

Picture
This is NOTEorious was founded in 2009. Auditions happened in late May early June for the following year.

NOTEorious rehearses after school and sometimes in the evenings in the high school theatre and music room and occasionally, NOTEorious rehearses during power block.

You are expected to learn your music on your own and come to rehearsals ready to perform. Rehearsal recordings are made to help you with your process. Please use them. While students are not required to take chorus, students are HIGHLY encouraged to take chorus and private lessons so they sing every day. It can be a deciding factor as to who gets into the group.

NOTEorious is an elite group with very high standards - even for clothing. You are to provide your own outfit.  At any time the director can ask you to change clothing or not allow you to perform if your outfit does not "fit" the requirements.

Students can do NOTEorious and other activities but they have to find the balance. It is the students' responsibility to discuss commitments with the parties involved. Communication is key. It is not the role of the director or student officers to plan around individual commitments. NOTEorious should be the priority.

Performance Dates
Additional trips and concerts will be announced as soon as we know
Dates are estimates based on last years events. They will be updated on the internal calendar as soon as we know.

All dates and times are subject to change.
SMART MUSIC
All HS singers will use Smart Music in their homes! You will be expected to use this tool to work on your sight reading as well as your parts for each song. When you sign in, it logs your work time so we can see how much you are using it. We promise - this tool will help us grow so fast!

At any time the music director can ask you to sing your part or perform the movement, alone. If you can not do it successfully, you may be asked not to perform that song or in the concert.

Students must make every attempt to attend rehearsals.

Rehearsals 2-3x a week before a concert are especially important. We expect work and other commitments to be rescheduled before competitions and performances. If your student has absences, they may not be asked to perform in that concert/competition. However, any excessive tardiness or absences may result in dismissal from the group.
