Auditions are always stiff but it doesn't mean don't try.
NOTEorious typically rehearses Monday/Tuesday and Friday after school. Times vary. But in general 2:05-3 or 3:30pm.
Rehearsals do get more intense when we have concerts and events. There will be testing before concerts to make sure you know your part.
If you miss rehearsals or have to leave early prior to a concert, or do not know your part, you will not be allowed to perform in that concert. Excessive tardiness or absences may result in dismissal from the group.
Download it from this web site, fill it out and bring it to the first rehearsal. You must pay a $100 fee to participate. This fee is accessed on the high school's main page but not available until mid August. Mrs Kane is not responsible for collecting this fee. This is a school participation fee. You fill out the Family id form electronically and send it to the main office. All monies are due by September 2020.
If you do not make it this year, PLEASE come back and audition for us again. Don't ever give up signing. Join Chorus. Take private lessons. Audition for the musical. Anything you can do to keep honing your craft. A musician works their craft every day. Failing doesn't mean failure. Failure is only final once you completely give up.

You will be expected to use this tool to work on your sight reading as well as your parts for each song. When you sign in, it logs your work time so we can see how much you are using it. We promise - this tool will help us grow so fast! At any time the music director can ask you to sing your part or perform the movement, alone. If you can not do it successfully, you may be asked not to perform that song or in the concert. Students must make every attempt to attend rehearsals. Rehearsals 1-2 weeks before a concert are especially important. If your student has excessive absences, they may not be asked to perform in that concert/compstition. At first, this does not mean they are out of the group, but they may not be ready to perform at that show and should work hard to catch up for the next performance. However, any excessive tardiness or absences may result in dismissal from the group. |

Noteorious 2020-21

This is NOTEorious was founded in 2009. It is a co-ed auditioned group. Auditions happened in the June for the following year. We typically accept 14-16 students with no more than 18 members with equal voicing.
NOTEorious rehearses after school and sometimes in the evenings in the high school theatre and music room and occasionally, NOTEorious rehearses during power block.
You are expected to learn your music on your own and come to rehearsals ready to perform. Rehearsal recordings are made to help you with your process. Please use them. Students are HIGHLY encouraged to take Chorus and private lessons.
NOTEorious is an elite group with very high standards - even for clothing. You are to provide your own outfit. NOTEorious wears dress blacks with gold and green accents. (think about what you would wear to a wedding) At any time the director can ask you to change clothing or not allow you to perform if your outfit does not "fit" the requirements.
Students can do NOTEorious and other activities but they have to find the balance. It is the students' responsibility to discuss commitments with the parties involved. Communication is key. It is not the role of the director or student officers to plan around individual commitments.
